What is Agent Comprehension?
When pages disagree, agents hear a mixed chorus. Agent Comprehension shows that mixed picture.
Agent Comprehension is HonestClaw’s display of what was readable from the published pages a scan actually read: whether clear, consistent facts come through for ordinary business questions. The product labels this view Informational, so it is not scored and does not change the Agent Readiness Score.
For what agent readiness and the Agent Readiness Score mean, see What is agent readiness?. For the short Agent Comprehension section on a scan result, see What does an HonestClaw scan show?.
Why this matters
Agents work from the facts your published pages expose. When those facts are unclear or pages disagree, the picture is harder to read. Agent Comprehension shows what came through on the pages a scan could reach.
What Agent Comprehension shows
On the published pages the scan read, Agent Comprehension focuses on whether clear, consistent facts come through.
The product surface follows three plain steps:

01
Collect pages
The scan gathers published, logged-out pages it could reach.

02
Analyze text
It reads those pages for clear answers to ordinary business questions.

03
Show answers
It displays those answers with evidence counts for the pages that shaped them.
Evidence, coverage, and where it appears
On a public report, Agent Comprehension records informational answers from pages the scan could read, along with the pages that shaped those answers.
What was blocked or unreachable is disclosed as coverage, and unavailable pages are not negative findings. Some questions may stay behind a deeper look.
On free public reports, Agent Comprehension appears only where that scan returned it. Where it ran, you also see the answers and evidence counts for that run.
Evidence map
The Evidence Map shows, for each answer Agent Comprehension returned, which of the pages the scan read support that answer, contradict it, dilute it, or show None. Evidence counts summarize those page relationships.
01
support
02
contradict
03
dilute
04
None
How it relates to the Agent Readiness Score
The Agent Readiness Score is a 0 to 100 summary of how ready one public site is for agents to find, understand, and use what that site publishes. Agent Comprehension sits beside that score when it is available and shows the clarity of facts on the pages the scan read.
Agent Comprehension is not scored into the Agent Readiness Score, does not add points to it, and does not change it. For the full definition of agent readiness, see What is agent readiness?.
Clarity, citations, and what Comprehension measures
Comprehension measures clarity and does not cause citations by itself. Agent Comprehension does not prove that a live agent will complete a task on your site, and it does not mean agents prefer your company, choose you, or buy from you. It reports what was readable from published pages the scan could reach.
Interactive module
This page hosts the interactive Agent Comprehension module that is moving off the homepage. When that module is present, it enhances the written definition above. The critical answer stays in the page HTML either way.

Next steps
- Read What is agent readiness? for how the Agent Readiness Score fits find, understand, and use.
- Read What does an HonestClaw scan show? for the short Agent Comprehension section on a scan result.
- To see a current result where Agent Comprehension ran, run a scan.
A scan is a measurement of a public site at a point in time. Paying buys depth of analysis when a deeper look is offered. It never buys a better number or a better rank.
